Are Lutherans "Classical Theists?" Is God immutable, impassible, and simple? And if so, what do these terms mean? Also, does God the Son eternally submit to God the Father so that there is subordination within the Trinity? All this packed into one episode of Ask The Pastor. Don't forget to subscribe (and click the notification bell). If you'd like to support the ministry of Ask The Pastor, click here: https://tinyurl.com/yadhlqfl
What do we call the third person of the Blessed Holy Trinity? Holy Ghost? Holy Spirit? Are they synonyms or is there a substantive difference? What does the KJV, from which the phrase "Holy Ghost" most often comes, tell us about using "Holy Spirit?" Send your questions to atpholycross@gmail.com and pastor will get you an answer as he's able. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!
Is it necessary to remember hearing the words, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" to know your baptism was valid? Pastor answers this question and talks about Credobaptisms and Star Wars because. . .why not? Thanks for watching. Send your questions to atpholycross@gmail.com and Pastor will answer them as he's able. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!
The One God reveals Himself to be three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. But which person of the Godhead do we pray to? We'll explore this question and see what Jesus teaches us in the Gospels about this very thing. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe! If you've got a follow-up question about this episode, of if you've got a question about something else you've always wanted to ask, email pastor at atpholycross@gmail.com. He'll answer you as soon as he's able.
Article III of the Augsburg Confession teaches us about who the Son of God, the second person of the Holy Trinity is, what He does, and how he does it. Questions can be sent to atpholycross@gmail.com and comments can be left below.
On Trinity Sunday we confess the Athanasian Creed in the Divine Service. Someone asks, "Does the Athanasian Creed teach salvation by your own works or by faith in Christ?" We'll take a look at the language of the Creed, where that language comes from, and if it is correct to read these verses as teaching that we justified by our works instead of faith.
A Double Dose this week since I missed last week. Send your questions to atpholycross@gmail.com and we'll answer them as soon as we're able.
