It may sound boring, "the distinction of meats" but this article takes what we've already confessed about the righteousness of faith and the proper use of human traditions, and applies them to things like mandatory fasts, fish on Fridays in Lent, days of obligation, basically anything in the church that is deemed "necessary" other than the righteousness of faith. This article also explores WHY we have traditions in the church, which is for the sake of discipline and mortification of the sinful flesh, NOT for the sake of gaining grace, forgiveness, or favor from God.

We're still talking about worship and the role of faith in the Mass in today's continuation of our study of the Augsburg Confession, Article 24, Of The Mass.

Article 20 deals with Good Works, specially it deals with from where good works come, which is faith, since faith alone justifies.

Article 18 tackles the issue of the freedom of the will. Does man have free will in things of this world? What about free will in regards to spiritual things? This is another very important article of the faith, especially for anyone confessing the truth of the Scripture in our modern world.

A viewer asks why he should be a Lutheran and what makes Lutheranism distinct from the other confessions of the Christian faith. In a religious scene where all confessions are treated as the same, is there a difference at all?

It's Friday! That means coffee and the Lutheran Confessions! This segment covers Article 6 of the Augsburg Confession concerning New Obedience of the Christian who is justified by faith alone.

Continuing our reading of the Augsburg Confession, this episode deals with the Ministry of the Word and Sacraments and its connection to justifying faith that was confessed in article 4.

Whenever we say "baptize saves" and "baptism is necessary for salvation" someone will inevitably bring up the example of the thief on the cross as an example against what the Bible says about baptism. If we examine this oft-cited example we see that the thief on the cross actually helps us understand the doctrine of 'baptismal regeneration,' that is, that God does save sinners in baptism. This example also teaches us the necessity of faith in Christ for justification.

Article 2 deals with Original Sin, what is is, what are the results of is, and how the Lord forgives it. This is an foundational article of the faith because if we have an unbiblical view of humanity, everything else will get thrown off kilter.

On Trinity Sunday we confess the Athanasian Creed in the Divine Service. Someone asks, "Does the Athanasian Creed teach salvation by your own works or by faith in Christ?" We'll take a look at the language of the Creed, where that language comes from, and if it is correct to read these verses as teaching that we justified by our works instead of faith.
